Assessing Herbicide Efficacy of Pelargonic Acid on Several Weed Species

چکیده

Pelargonic acid is the most successful natural herbicide and can contribute to reducing synthetic herbicides, but information on its efficacy contrasting. Given high cost, a reduction of rate could facilitate spread use this herbicide. Two greenhouse three field experiments were conducted evaluate herbicidal different doses pelargonic several weeds (Abutilon theophrasti, Alopecurus myosuroides, Conyza sumatrensis, Lolium rigidum, Persicaria maculosa, Setaria pumila, Solanum nigrum). Results show that partial both in since sensitivity weed species very variable, yet significant biomass was observed application. Grass weeds, particular A. myosuroides L. less sensitive acid, with reduced transient symptoms even at highest doses. A large difference also between dicots P. oleracea, maculosa theophrasti being than C. sumatrensis S. nigrum. The conditions depends botanical composition flora environmental conditions. Hot dry promote leaf traits decrease by penetration inside leaves. Despite be useful tool an integrated multi-tactic strategy for sustainable management, while as stand-alone tactic recommendable.

Amino Acid Content and Biomass Productivity of Selected Weed Species as an Indicator of Their Response to Herbicide Stress

Biomass reduction and amino acid content in plants of Papaver rhoeas L. and Stellaria media L. were investigated to evaluate response of these species to herbicide stress under various temperature (25/16 and 8/2 C) and relative humidity (50 and 75%) regimes. Weeds were treated with tribenuron methyl (15 g × ha), a mixture of 2.4-D with florasulam (180 + 3.75 g × ha), and a mixture of 2.4-D with...

The implications of spatially variable pre‐emergence herbicide efficacy for weed management

BACKGROUND The efficacy of pre-emergence herbicides within fields is spatially variable as a consequence of soil heterogeneity. We quantified the effect of soil organic matter on the efficacy of two pre-emergence herbicides, flufenacet and pendimethalin, against Alopecurus myosuroides and investigated the implications of variation in organic matter for weed management using a crop-weed competit...

Assessing the impact of revegetation and weed control on urban sensitive bird species

Nature in cities is concentrated in urban green spaces, which are key areas for urban biodiversity and also important areas to connect people with nature. To conserve urban biodiversity within these natural refugia, habitat restoration such as weed control and revegetation is often implemented. These actions are expected to benefit biodiversity, although species known to be affected by urbaniza...
